Alex + Max's Wedding at Harmony Hill Farm in Warren, Maine

Oh, my dearest Alex & Max. I have been dreaming of their wedding day for almost a year since they first contacted me about their nuptials. I fell in love with them as we chatted about their relationship, engagement, and vision for their wedding day. I knew that I desperately wanted to have the opportunity to work with their and capture the start of the next chapter of their life together. Needless to say, they made my week when they told me that I would be able to do so.

When the actual day came? Phew. Better than I could have ever dreamed. They got ready for their day on family property tucked in the woods along the coastline in Damariscotta, Maine. All of their friends stayed with them throughout the woods in tents and cabins while enjoying the gorgeous weather and dips in the ocean. Everyone was relaxed, excited, and smiling to finally see the two love birds tie the knot. We captured lots of portraits of just the two of them along the ocean before their friends joined them. It was such a gorgeous location that I dare say we could have spent all day there! So beautiful!

With preparations completed, Alex & Max made their way to Harmony Hill Farm for their wedding ceremony and reception. The couple was surrounded by all of their loved ones beneath the old trees next to the farmhouse as they were joined in a Quaker marriage ceremony underneath a Chuppah. Their ceremony was, by far, one of the most meaningful that I have ever witnessed. Alex & Max basked in the love of their guests in silence while feeling the breeze come across the fields and listening to the birds chirping in the trees. When the moment spoke to them, their guests shared their thoughts with those who had gathered. There were laughs, smiles, and even some tears. But spending the time taking it all in was so incredibly moving.

Once their union was sealed and the Quaker marriage license was signed by all of their guests, the party really started in the barn on the property with sustenance provided by Delicious Thymes and music from the Pete Kilpatrick Band. With guests from all over the country, it was a reunion just as much as a celebration. It was a day I am sure none of us will forget anytime soon. What a glorious way to celebrate Alex & Max!
