Emily & Joven's Destination Wedding at The Barn at Flanagan Farm

Many months ago, Emily and I met each other through video chat with her newborn son chiming in when he felt necessary while I thought about how long it had been since my daughter was his size. Bonding over the chaos of motherhood, we talked about her & Joven's plans for their destination wedding here in Maine during Maine's peak foliage. I was left in awe of their teamwork as they planned their wedding from the other side of the country (with help from Cassie of Doting & Details). Tackling wedding planning with a newborn at home? They did so with style and their wedding day itself was more perfect than I could ever say. Now, they might have wished for slightly warmer temperatures and a bit more bright fall colors on the trees, but at least it did not rain!

Emily's looked stunning in her wedding dress featuring the most spectacular beading on the bodice with a unique skirt design. Makeup artist and hair stylist Ariel Johnson ensured that her hair was perfectly coiffed and makeup complimented Emily's natural beauty. Joven donned a classic tweed suit with plaid bow tie that was paired perfectly with the season. As their guests made their way to the ceremony, they were greeted with expertly mixed cocktails to warm them up thanks to Ashley from Eventfully Yours. The Barn at Flanagan Farm, one of my all time favorite venues, in Buxton served as the location for their fête after they tied the knot beneath the tall trees surrounding the woodland sanctuary. The event was expertly decorated with flowers from Flour! Events, lighting from Maine Event Design & Decor, and rentals from One Stop Event Rentals. Their guests dinned on a delicious feast from Coastal Critters before indulging on a banquet of cake and sweets from Cakes for All Seasons. Meanwhile, Felix Brown kept the dance floor packed all night. I had a great time working alongside their videographers, You + Me Films, who flew in from California to capture their day.

Emily & Joven, I have had such a great time getting to know you both, and your kiddos, over the past year. It was an absolute honor to be there with you to capture the story of your day.
