Megan & Ryan's Seaside Wedding & Rising Tide Brewing Co. Reception

Oh my heart. I wrapped up my 2019 weddings last month with the delightful Megan & Ryan and I could not have asked for a better way to do so. As soon as Megan reached out to me and said she her fiance was Ryan, I immediately was crossing my fingers that they would chose me to capture their day. My connection to Ryan goes way back to when I photographed his sister Jen’s wedding (to Jared) in 2012 and I have been fortunate to work with two of his cousins since then (Danielle & Dustin in 2019 and Jen & Mike’s back in May of this year). I absolutely love when I am able to work with the family multiple times since it feels like a family reunion each time. It’s so much fun!

Megan & Ryan were married in an intimate ceremony on the patio at The Dockside Grill in Falmouth, Maine. Although the wind was brisk and there was a definite nip to the air, they were blessed with clear blue skies and plenty of sunshine. We gathered inside for their formal family portraits before the newlyweds and I bopped outside for a few brief moments for some quiet time for just the two of them while we captured some more formal portraits. After a delicious dinner, incredible desserts, and the kids built their Lego sets, we departed Falmouth and made our way to Rising Tide Brewing Company in Portland.

The newlyweds friends gathered to greet them as they arrived and raised their glasses to toast their new union. Ryan & Megan were both roasted, I mean toasted, by their siblings with hilarious speeches that left us all in stitches and with a few tears in our eyes. They then shared a song to dance with their parents as their guests circled them. Once the formalities were complete, it was time to really get the party started. With the taps of Rising Tide Brewing beer flowing and incredible small plate offerings from Fire & Co. on endless supply (seriously delicious stuff, my friends) fueling them, their loved ones kept the dance floor jam packed late into the night thanks to awesome music and lighting from Ryan’s friend Jason. I could not have asked for a better way to close out this year. It was such an amazing day!

Megan & Ryan, thank you so very much for choosing me to photograph your wedding day. I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for the two of you! And I can’t wait to see you both at the next family wedding. ;-)
